Lorena Fernández has been nominated for the 2019.

Lic. Lorena Alfonsina Fernandez Meza, Secretary of the Central American and Dominican Republic Wildlife Enforcement Network (CAWEN or ROAVIS in Spanish ) and Chief of the Special Prosecution Unit for the Protection of the Environment (FEMA) with the Public Ministry of Honduras, has been nominated for the 2019 Clark R. Bavin Wildlife Law Enforcement Awards.

Lic. Fernandez has been an active member and supporter of CAWEN/ROAVIS since its inception in September 2010. Her professionalism and enthusiasm have strengthened coordination and information sharing in the region and also resulted in a strong, well-coordinated national network of officials in Honduras that now conduct an average of 1 wildlife inspection/enforcement operation a month.

The award will be presented at the May 2019 CITES Conference of the Parties in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
